On Sunday, Evan and I woke up and since it was such a beautiful day, we decided to drive down the Pacific Coast Highway towards Malibu.
The drive alone was beautiful and we could feel all our cares slowly drift away as we got closer to the beach. Our windows were down, one foot out the window and sunglasses on.
After driving for about an hour, we found a spot on the side of the road to park and walked towards the beach. We ended up at Zuma Westward and it is by far my favorite beach I have been to since moving to LA.
Typical of Evan and I is that we like to just get in the car and go when we have an idea. Unfortunately this usually leaves us unprepared. On this day, we regretted not packing a single beach item or food but we had a great time just lounging on the warm sand, watching the surfers and seals.
Next time we go, I will be prepared with bathing suit, flip slops, sun hat, book, towels, food, etc.
It was great to get away from the city for a bit and daydream of living on the beach.
