Four years ago today, I married Evan. He is the love of my life, my best friend and
partner in crime.
Since marrying Evan, I have become the independent and creative woman I have always wanted to be. Each year has been a journey in its own with ups and downs, heartache and happiness, which has made our relationship what it is today. With respect and love, we have allowed each other to grow in ways we never imagined. We have traveled across the country with nothing but a bag full of clothes and a toothbrush just to follow our dreams. We have both made sacrifices just to support one another and
see each other smile.
My favorite thing about our relationship is that we don't try to change one another. Evan accepts me for me and vice-versa. All of our weird little idiosyncrasies can
live and breathe.
I know that marriage is not easy, but every single day when I wake up and when I come home from work I say a little thank you to God for allowing me to be married to a man that emits a peaceful, happy and loving energy. When you are with a person like Evan, it IS easy. Life is fun, simple, romantic, full of freedom and endless possibilities. Everyday I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
Happy anniversary my love!
Below are a few pages from the journal Evan gave me after he proposed. It is a journal he kept that had all his different drawings/designs for my engagement ring. Every now and then I look through the journal and am amazed that he was able to draw my ring on a little piece of paper and bring it to reality. I also laugh a lot because even though the journal is romantic, some of the things he writes are pretty funny. :)
